About Sophia de la Mar

As a child, Sophia de la Mar moved from Amsterdam to Hilversum together with her parents. Years later, she moved back to Amsterdam, where she married Samuel du Mosch. Their marriage lasted ten years. When Sophia died in Westerbork, her urn was placed at the monument at the Beth Haim cemetery in Ouderkerk aan de Amstel on February 22, 1944. Today, one can find a little gravestone with her name on it.

Sophia de la Mar died on 20 November 1943 in Westerbork transit camp and she was cremated on 24 November 1943. The urn with her ashes was placed on the Portugese-Jewish cemetery in Ouderkerk aan de Amstel on field 1924, row 2, grave nr. 10.
Sophia de la Mar was single.
