The police commissioner in The Hague for the judicial services requested regarding trade in identification cards that Herman van de Kar, a presser by trade and residing at 42 Camperstraat, fourth floor, in Amsterdam, be located, detained and brought to trial. Identifying characteristics: '6'1" tall, pointed, pale face, dark hair combed back, Jewish appearance. Probably dressed in a dark-blue (striped) suit, dark-blue overcoat, bareheaded.'
Herman van de Kar was also wanted by the juvenile police, which announced in the police gazette that Herman van de Kar had been missing since 14 July 1942. This description referred to Jews who had gone into hiding.
