Maurits Minco was a son of Manus Minco and Sibille Hedeman. He married Sophia Nathans on 28 July 1920 in Groningen, a daughter of Simon Nathans and Betje de Jong. The couple had six children: twins Simon Nathan and Salomon Elias, twins Estella Rosetta and Nico and two more children.
When his father Manus stopped with his textile business with in annex a tailoring business at 156 Grotestraat in Almelo, Maurits Minco took over from him.
In 1942, Maurits Minco was ordered to report to one of the Jewish work camps. He decided to go into hiding with his family. He found a hiding place with farmer Evers in Hezingen, but there was insufficient room for the entire family. Another hiding place was found for the two oldest children. They survived the war.
On 6 October 1944, a group of Germans and Dutchmen raided Evers's farm. Maurits, his wife Sophia, their daughter Estella Rosetta and three sons Simon Nathan, Nico and Salomon Elias were caught and transferred to the barracks of the military police at the Almelosestraat in Ootmarsum. Early the following morning, on 7 October 1944, Maurits and his three sons were rounded up from the barracks by a group of Germans of the Sicherheitsdienst and shot through the head just outside Ootmarsum. It is not clear what happened to Sophia and her daughter Estella Rosetta. They were killed somewhere in Western-Europe.
