Bernardine Cohen was a daughter of Moses Cohen, a horse dealer, and Emma Steinweg. She married in Oldenzaal Meyer Cutzien on 29 August 1919, a son of Benjamin Aron Cutzien and Judik Kan. Bernardine's family-in-law- has changed the family name into the more Dutch-sounding name Krukziener and Meyer Cutzien was also known as Maurits Krukziener. As far has been researched, Bernardine and Meyer had one child who has survived the Holocaust. Bernardine Cohen was killed in Sobibor on 16 July 1943 whilst her husband Meyer has lost his life already on 14 October 1941 in Mauthausen.
