Barend Zegerius was a son of Meijer Hartog Zegerius and Duifje Lap. He married Eva Beesemer in Zaandam on 31 July 1918, a daughter of Abraham Beesemer and Johanna Winnik. The couple had three children, of whom one baby-boy died only four days old.
