Simon Hijman Hartog was married. He and his wife had a child. The family lived in Rotterdam. Simon Hijman Hartog was a bank teller. He helped people in hiding. He was betrayed, arrested in Rotterdam on 16 December 1942 and held at the police station on the Haagse Veer. He was deported to Auschwitz via Westerbork. The wife of Simon Hijman Hartog survived the war.
