Alida Spier, born in 1869 in Dordrecht, was a daughter of Hijman Hartog Spier from Middelburg and Dina Blauw from Rotterdam Rotterdam. The Spier family moved in 1880 from Dordrecht to Rotterdam where 25 October 1899 Alida married Levie Hartog, a son of Simon Hartog and Saartje Abraham Meijer.
