Stephan Hirschberger and his family

On 27 January 1928 Stephan Hirschberger, his wife Selma Mayer and their five-year-old son Erich, moved from Oberhausen to Mönchengladbach. Stephan previously earned a living as a merchant but most likely came to Mönchengladbach to work for the company of the father of his sister in law. Stephan became an employee of his company specialised in wall-paper.
On 2 January 1933 the family moved whitin Mönchengladbach to Schillerstrasse 65. On 2 November 1933 Selma Mayer and Erich Hirschberger moved to Venlo, a Dutch town just accross the German-Dutch border. Stephan subsequently moved in with his sister-in-law at Bismarckstrasse 118 in Mönchengladbach. On 31 February 1938 he moved to Eickenerstrasse 41. On 6 December 1938 the family was reunited when Stephan Hirschberger also moved to Venlo.
