Rabbi Mordechaj Cohen studied at the Nederlands Israëlisch Semininarium in Amsterdam and at yeshivas in Pressburg (Bratislava) and Galanta. In 1901, he was appointed as a teacher at the Beth Hamidrasj (house of study) in Rotterdam.
