Berta came to the Netherlands on January 3rd, 1939. She stayed in the quarantine in Amsterdam, in the Emmahuis in Wijk aan Zee, Burgerweeshuis in Amsterdam, Noordwijk, Laren, and in May 1940she went back to Amsterdam, here she could move in with her parents.
Berta suffered from rheumatoid arthritis.
