Elisabeth Tertaas, a daughter of Mozes Tertaas and Rebecca Leeda, married 19 August 1909 in Amsterdam Simon Mouwes, a son of David Jochem Mouwes and Sara van der Woude. The couple had two children.
Elisabeth was born in a family with seven children. Two of them survived the war. Her other siblings, Hartog, Benjamin, Philip and Gidion, have been killed in the Shoah.
