Noach Polak was the eldest of the six children of Jacobus Polak and Vroukje de Jong and was born on 4 January 1873 in Rotterdam. When he got married on 28 October 1931 to Lena Stad, who also was born in Rotterdam on 10 January 1883 as daughter of Abraham Stad and Betje Spaanbroek, Noach was a clerk with the Railways but later he was also shopkeeper of seamen goods. Noach and Lena had no children together.
Noach had another five siblings, namely Mozes, Betje, Hendrika, Esther and Henriette. Noach’s parents were already deceased in the years between 1920 and 1930 and he, as the eldest son became the head of family Polak. With him lived in then his brother Mozes and his sisters Hendrika and Henrietta. His sisters Esther and Betje were married already in 1912 and 1918 and lived elsewhere in Rotterdam at their own addresses. But when Noach married Lena Stad in 1931 and moved into an own house in the Lange Pannekoekstraat 10a, his brother and sisters had to find lodging elsewhere too, which they found at Spoorsingel 74b with their sister Betje, who was married to Simon Hornman.
Noach and Lena moved again a few times: on 4 November 1937 they moved back to their previously parental house at Schiedamsedijk 111b and on 2 August 1930 they lodged at the address Aleidisstraat 6a. In October 1941 they moved for the last time to Witte van Haemstedestraat 32a, also their last known address in Rotterdam.
One year later, early October 1942 Noach Polak and Lena Polak-Stad were taken from there to Westerbork and put on transport to Auschwitz on 16 October. On arrival there on 19 October 1942 they were immediately killed in the gas chambers of Auschwitz-Birkenau.
