Meijer van Velzen

Meijer van Velzen was a son of Salomon van Velzen and Dina Verdoner. He married Margaretha Nova on 16 Maart 1921 in Amsterdam, a  daughter of George Nova and Clara Gobets. The couple had six children of whom four have survived the Holocaust. Only Salomon and Clara, just as their parents, were killed in the Shoah.

Het hele gezin Van Velzen, ouders en zes kinderen, dook na de invoering van de davidster in totaal zes weken onder op de Joodse School nr 9, de voormalige Louis Bothaschool, in de Kraaipanstraat in Amsterdam.
