Jakobus Joseph Walvisch ran a coal and oil business and leased carts at Vrolikstraat 78 in Amsterdam. During the war, the Walvisch family went into hiding. Jakobus was betrayed and captured between 5 and 8 December in Molenaarslaan in Nieuw-Vennep. His wife and two young children, of who one was born during the period of hiding, survived the war.
