Maurits Velleman

Maurits Velleman was a son of Levie Andries Velleman and Sara Blog. He married on 10 Sepember 1930 to Rebecca Cardozo, daughter of Jonas Cardozo and Esther Rood. The couple had 3 children: Esther, Marianna and Clara.
Maurits had two other brothers and a sister, of whom his brother Levie did not survive the Holocaust.

De familie Velleman woonde 2 deuren verder van ons op nr 24 in de Distelstraat in Eindhoven.

Ze zijn er destijds ongeveer tegelijkertijd met ons komen wonen.Vaak speelde ik met de meiden, touwtje springen, hinkelen enz.

Terwijl op nr. 30 een (brood) NSB'er woonde die wist dat bij ons een joodse vrouw Florrie, met haar dochter (uiteindelijk 5 jaar lang) zat ondergedoken. Die de oorlog overleefde…
