Isaac Koopman was a son of Emanuel Koopman and ((516672|Schoontje Levij)0. He married Saartje Springer in Amsterdam on 4 December 1913, a daughter of Samson Springer and Betje Levij.
Isaac was born in a family with nine children, of whom two children have died in childhood. His other siblings, Salomon, Levie, Hijman, Joseph, Samson and Betje, have been killed all during the Holocaust.
