Samuel Poliakoff studied medicine in Amsterdam, where he sat for his medical finals on 2 July 1919. He obtained his doctoral degree on 13 June 1922 in Amsterdam on a thesis about 'Calcium and tuberculosis'. Samuel Poliakoff lived and practised as family doctor at 154 van Baerlestraat in Amsterdam.
