Regina Bertha (Ginie) Blein werd geboren op 19 december 1938 in Hardenberg als eerste en enige kind van Hartog Simon Blein en Johanna Zilverberg.
Het gezin woonde op het adres A36d in Hardenberg, wat thans Markt nummer 6 is. Vader werkte samen met zijn broer, Ginie’s oom Simon, in de slagerij van zijn vader aan de Voorstraat 30.

Hartog Simon Blein (known as Harry) was the son of David Blein and Regina Hoogstraal. He was married to Johanna Zilverberg. The couple had a daughter, Regina Bertha (known as Ginie). The family lived in Hardenberg, where Hartog Simon Blein worked at his father's butcher shop at 30 Voorstraat.
